Let’s Introduce One of Our HUDL Ambassadors: Freddie Jameson

We are thrilled to introduce Freddie Jameson, a professional squash player from New Zealand and a proud member of the HUDL ambassador family.

Freddie’s journey in squash began at the age of seven. "I fell in love with the sport immediately," he shares. From that very first moment on court, he harboured a deep desire to become a professional player. But his path to the professional circuit has been anything but ordinary, defined as much by resilience and determination as by raw talent.

At just six years old, Freddie was diagnosed with a growth disorder that caused one side of his body to grow at a different rate to the other. Between the ages of 13 and 17, this meant undergoing eight major operations, including leg extension and reduction surgeries. These procedures were followed by intensive therapy, where he had to learn how to walk properly again, regain control of his legs, and rebuild his strength.

While these challenges had a huge impact on his junior years, they never dimmed his passion for the game. "After each of my eight operations, all I wanted was to get back on court," Freddie recalls. "Squash became my medicine."

And get back on court he did. Not only did he overcome significant physical hurdles, but he thrived. Throughout his junior career, Freddie won multiple national titles and proudly represented New Zealand on numerous occasions.

Today, as a senior player, his dedication continues to pay off. Freddie is currently ranked 172nd in the world and is the 4th best player in New Zealand. He stands as a powerful example of what it means to turn obstacles into fuel, proving that with passion and perseverance, you can achieve your dreams.

We are incredibly proud to have Freddie as a HUDL Ambassador and look forward to supporting him on his journey.

Welcome to the team, Freddie
